Outbreak At El Furniture Warehouse In Toronto May Have Exposed 1,700 People To COVID-19

Customers of a popular Toronto restaurant are being told by Toronto Public Health (TPH) that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.

Anyone who visited El Furniture Warehouse at 336 Yonge St. between September 10 and 17 should monitor for any flu-like symptoms.

1,700 Visitors may have been exposed to COVID-19

"In the last few days, tests have confirmed that seven people linked to this establishment are positive for COVID-19. Five are employees and two are patrons," wrote TPH in a statement released on their website.

TPH is working through the process of reaching patrons for contract tracing purposes.

If you visited Warehouse during this time, but have not been contacted by TPH, you are considered at low risk of contracting the virus.

Toronto recorded 612 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, reports Health Minister Christine Elliott.*

Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto's Medical Officer of Health, has said that the increase of cases should act as a warning to the city.

Toronto Public Health is reminding all Toronto residents to abide by mask regulations, maintain social distancing, and to stay home if they are feeling sick.
