Are you a foodie trying to find the best place to eat in Toronto but unsure where to go? Look no further because Forbes released a list of the best restaurants in the world and seven Toronto restaurants made the list.

Forbes Travel Guide's 2024 Star Award Winners were announced this month, highlighting the "best hotels, restaurants, spas and ocean cruises" around the world.

258 places from around the globe were named as the best restaurants in the world this year. Seven Toronto restaurants snatched a spot on that list, beating out every other Canadian city. Montreal also got some recognition, with two spots on the list, and Quebec City had one.

Forbes finds these places by having "incognito inspectors" act as everyday guests and stay at hotels, receive spa services and dine at fine restaurants around the world. A list is then compiled by Forbes Travel Guide using "an objective, independent and data-driven process," which results in five-star and four-star rankings, along with "recommended restaurants."

While some of the restaurants on the list have remained there for multiple years, there are new additions to the 2024 list.

Here are the seven Toronto restaurants named amongst the best in the world and their recognition.

  • Café Boulud Toronto — Recommended
  • Canoe — 4-Star
  • Joni Restaurant — 4-Star (New addition to 2024)
  • Louix Louis — Recommended (New addition to 2024)
  • One Restaurant — Recommended
  • Scaramouche — 4-Star
  • Toca Restaurant — 4-Star

The other Canadian restaurants that are on the 2024 list include the following:

  • Maison Boulud — 4-Star — Montreal
  • Toque! — 4-Star — Montreal
  • Chez Muffy — 4-Star — Quebec City

It's not easy to make it on the list, so Torontonians, you should be proud that seven restaurants were named among the best in the world and add them to your must-try spots in the city.
