It's wedding season once again, so dust off your best heels and send your suit to the cleaner — here's what Ontario weddings will look like this summer.

As of June 30, Ontario is in step two of the Roadmap to Reopen, meaning indoor wedding services are allowed at 25% capacity.

However, if you're looking to host an indoor reception or gathering following the service, indoor gathering rules in this step only allow for a maximum of five people.

The City of Toronto said in its COVID-19 Checklist for Planning a Wedding that "25% capacity is determined by taking the total square metres of floor area accessible to the public in the facility, dividing that number by 16 and rounding the result down to the nearest whole number."

Outdoor wedding services will be allowed, with the capacity based on how many people can safely keep 2 metres apart. Yet, outdoor receptions or gatherings associated with the wedding ceremony need to be limited to 25 people.

Certain wedding venues still have restrictions, so if you want to rent out your favourite indoor restaurant you may have to wait until step three to do so.

What happens in step three?

While step three has no confirmed date, it could be rolled out toward the end of July, 21 days after step two.

In step three, you can expect larger indoor weddings with some capacity limits. However, the Ontario Government has not announced what this capacity will be.

Outdoor weddings will still have a capacity limit with guests psychically distanced at 2 metres apart.

Do guests have to wear masks?

For indoor weddings, masks are mandatory, with a few exceptions, according to the City of Toronto's wedding checklist.

The couple can remove their masks during their ceremony, and performers don't have to wear masks if they are performing behind a physical barrier or doing physical activity, like dancing.

For outdoor weddings, masks are not required if proper physical distancing is possible.
