You don't need to drive a DeLorean to be transported back in time, like in the movie Back To The Future. Canada is home to tons of secret spots that are straight from another decade. So start your car, as you'll want to see Sandon in B.C. This unbelievable ghost town has more buses than people.

Located four hours from Kelowna or eight hours from Vancouver, you'll be lucky to pass more than one person in the once-bustling mining community.

At its peak, there were 5000 people here and the streets were alive with activity. There were 29 hotels, 28 salons, and a whopping 85 brothels.

But today, the town only has four residents!

To shuttle the entire population around, all it would take is one small car, but surprisingly they have 15 buses.

The collection of vehicles originally started as a temporary storage solution, but today they have been repurposed as a mini free museum.

The 15 buses are built between 1946 and 1954 and come from various parts of Canada, including Vancouver, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Regina.

Currently, you can visit the interior of the vintage Trolley 2201 for a fun selfie spot. Or walk around the exterior of the rest of the fleet.

It is open to the public for free seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

But donations are welcomed. Eventually, the town hopes to restore all the buses and paint them different colours to represent their cities.

While exploring, you'll also want to check out the other attractions, like the giant steam train from 1908. Plus, they have the oldest continuously operating hydroelectric station in the country, dating back to 1987.

For more ghost town fun, your next stop should be the ruins of neighbouring Cody. It is only 2 minutes away by car or a quick 15-minute walk.
