This Pic From Trudeau's Campaign Bus Shows What Life On The Election Trail Looks Like

He's got his whole family on board with him. 🇨🇦

Managing Editor, Canada

A new photo from Sophie Grégoire Trudeau shows that life on the election trail is a family affair for many of Canada's politicians.

On August 15 — the same day that a snap election was officially called in Canada — she shared a picture of the Trudeau family preparing to begin the Liberal Party election campaign.

In one photo, the family can be seen heading to Rideau Hall where Trudeau met Governor General Mary Simon on Sunday. It was here that she accepted his request to dissolve Parliament, triggering Canada's 44th federal election.

In another, the three children are pictured alongside their dad on Trudeau's campaign bus. The two older children (Ella-Grace and Xavier) are wearing headphones and are plugged into their phone and tablet, while 7-year-old Hadrien can be seen with a pen in his hand.

"Summer is almost over (boo!), and now we're starting a new campaign…," Grégoire Trudeau wrote. "A campaign for a better future for our kids, for our grandkids, and for everyone. It's gonna be quite the ride!"

Explaining his decision to call a snap election during the COVID-19 pandemic on Sunday, the PM said, "The decisions your government makes right now will define the future your kids and grandkids grow up in. So in this pivotal, consequential moment, who wouldn't want a say?"
