Trump Is Creating A ‘Garden of American Heroes' & He Wants Alex Trebek To Be In It

Canadian-born Alex Trebek has been listed as one of the 200 people set to be celebrated in Donald Trump’s “National Garden of American Heroes.”
In a new statement, shared by the White House on January 18, it was confirmed that Trebek has been selected for a statue in the soon-to-be-built American garden.

Per the White House release, Trebek is set to join famous faces like Walt Disney, Albert Einstein, Elvis Presley, Steve Jobs, Martin Luther King, Jr., Theodore Roosevelt and Whitney Houston, among others.
“In short, each individual has been chosen for embodying the American spirit of daring and defiance, excellence and adventure, courage and confidence, loyalty and love,” reads the notice.
Trebek, who hosted Jeopardy! for 34 seasons, is originally from Sudbury, Ontario. However, he did become a U.S. citizen in 1997.
The TV host died of pancreatic cancer in November 2020.
A location for the garden is still to be confirmed, but the order says the project is ready and prepared to “move forward.”
The executive order is one of the last Trump will sign before President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated on January 20, 2021.
