New Study Suggests Millions Of Canadians Plan To Travel In The Next 3 Months

Canadians are planning domestic and international vacations!

Managing Editor, Canada

Millions of Canadians could be planning for a trip or vacation before the summer is over, according to new research.

Finder's Travel Index reports that interest in travel among Canadians is on the rise, with more and more people saying they intend to travel either domestically or abroad within the next three months.

Of those surveyed, 16.49% said they're preparing to get away, either domestically or internationally, which is up from 12.91% in March and 12.50% in the February survey.

While over 16% of Canadians would be equal to "an estimated 5 million people," Finder says that Canada still ranks last for short-term travel plans among the 19 countries surveyed.

For example, over 25% of Americans said they'd be prepared to take a trip before August, which could be feasible as the country is in talks with the European Union about possible vaccine passports.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also spoke to the idea of travelling this summer, hinting that it could be possible if "everything goes well."
