A Baby Bear In BC Got Stuck In A Tree & Was Just Freed By Local Officers
After getting stuck and needing rescuing, one B.C. bear cub clearly has a lot left to learn about climbing trees.
According to the Conservation Officer Service, the baby bear managed to get its leg trapped between two small trees while its mother paced close by.
The service was called after someone reported hearing a bear cub crying out in a spot of "tall grass and thick underbrush" near Port Alberni.
Officers arrived on the scene, where they managed to tranquillize the baby and free it from the tree while "hazing" the momma bear away.

They believe the cub had slipped while climbing and got its leg trapped on the way down; they've since tagged and left it "in a safe position so the sow could protect it while it recovered," wrote the service in a release.
