BC's 'Second Wave' Is Nothing Compared To Some Other Provinces

Bonnie Henry says the second wave has arrived. 😭
Contributor

On Monday, October 19, Dr. Bonnie Henry spoke about B.C.'s second wave of COVID-19, confirming that the province has entered this stage.

During the conference, she said that "It is possible that we could go into one of those rapidly increasing curves or waves."

"We are in a tricky place right now," she continued. Though, comparatively, B.C.'s case counts are looking a lot lower than some of the other provinces'.

Here in B.C. we've managed to relatively control our community spread

Currently, B.C. has 1,639 active cases, according to provincial data

Meanwhile, Alberta has 3,138.

According to the Government of Canada, Ontario is dealing with a whopping 6,047 and Quebec is even higher at 8,856.

So, in comparison, B.C. doesn't look so bad. Even Manitoba is a little bit higher in terms of numbers.

Dr. Henry addressed Halloween during the conference, saying "This is not the year that we're going have hundreds of kids going to hundreds of houses in large groups."

As the second wave settles in, we might want to settle in at home as well.
