Anyone who wants one will just have to roll up their sleeve.

While there might not be a COVID-19 vaccine in Canada just yet, that didn't stop party leaders from promising British Columbians that it would be free for them to get — eventually.

On Monday, October 5, the BC NDP party led by current premier John Horgan made a campaign promise at their virtual town hall.

They say that once a vaccine is available, that anyone who wants it would be able to get it.

In response, BC Liberal Party leader Andrew Wilkinson tweeted, "In what world would a life-saving vaccine not* be free to British Columbians?"

"It’s our duty to provide healthcare to everyone in B.C. It’s beyond belief that the NDP even considered charging for this," he said.

Health Canada is looking at the first vaccine right now and it's already under the review process.

Still, there won't be one available for the foreseeable future.

The new vaccine guarantees come when B.C. is about to head to the polls for a provincial election on October 24.
