This small town with heritage building-lined streets, quaint vibes and beautiful nature was just dubbed one of the best in B.C. to live in. Tucked away in the Selkirk Mountains and along the shore of Kootenay Lake, this is the kind of place you go to and never want to leave.

People on the Narcity Facebook page revealed where the best small towns in the province to live in are, and Nelson came up a few times.

It's actually a small city set in B.C.'s Southern Interior, but Nelson has all the small-town vibes you could ask for. Downtown is lively with heritage buildings all around, cute shops and galleries. Baker Street is the bustling heart of the town, where you can explore the local businesses.

The town is also full of restaurants and cafes, boasting more restaurants per capita than Manhattan, according to the tourism website.

A big part of living here of course is the lake. Kootenay Lake is stunning, with sparkling waters flanked by rolling mountains and thick forest.

You can spend summer days here out on the water, or opt for some hiking into the lush forest. Nearby town is actually the "the last-remaining Inland Temperate Rainforest on Earth," the tourism website said.

Nelson is the ideal balance of a bustling town with things to do, with incredible natural surroundings where you can enjoy some peace.
