If you're looking for a summer job, you may want to consider applying to work with Parks Canada.

Securing this type of government of Canada job would mean you could spend your summer enjoying some stunning natural landscapes while getting paid.

Parks Canada is hiring "energetic and enthusiastic students and temporary workers" for its summer 2024 operations, including in British Columbia.

"With a vast network of national parks, national historic sites, and marine conservation areas, you will work in some of the most beautiful and culturally significant places in the country, while making a difference in preserving the environment and Canadian heritage," the online job description reads.

The jobs range from environmental conservation, human resources, lifeguarding, web content and social media, and much more.

When you apply for this posting, Parks Canada says you are not applying for a specific job, but to an "inventory for future vacancies."

"As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment," the posting reads.

Compensation and work hours will differ based on the roles.

Student positions will be compensated between $16.84 and $24 an hour. Some entry-level seasonal roles may offer up to $30 per hour, the listing says.

The government agency says anyone with legal status to work in Canada can apply.

While a degree is not required, there are certain language requirements for some of the positions.

The application process takes about 15 minutes to complete. In it, you will need to tell Parks Canada about yourself, upload your resume, select up to 10 preferred work locations and choose up to 10 preferred job types.

The job application notes that lodging is not guaranteed and most Parks locations do not provide housing.

The closing date to apply for the summer positions is April 30, 2024.
