Is sleeping under the stars in your own cabin in the woods your idea of heaven? If so, there's actually an affordable and uncomplicated way to make that happen.

This Vancouver-based company will send you a DIY kit for your own off-grid tiny cabin, designed to keep you cozy even through the harshest Ontario winters.

Wilson Edgar, co-founder of The Backcountry Hut Company, told Narcity that you can easily build this cabin in five days with a group of friends, or with the help of someone with basic building skills.

The cabin you'll get is called the System 00, which is a classic A-frame inspired by homes on Arrowhead Lake in California.

The cost of this kit is $29,500, and you can have it shipped right to you. Edgar says his customers are based all over Canada and in states like Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.

The kit provides the structure, but Edgar says you can put up a deck out front, and "create yourself a really beautiful place that you can use for years."

They also sell two other cabin models that are a bit more complicated to build. You'll likely require a local permit and a licensed contractor on-site for these.

All you really need to build the System 00 is a couple of helping hands, your tools, and a pretty piece of land to put it on.
