Vancouver Airport has been facing delays due to Nav Canada 'staffing constraints'

Vancouver International Airport.
If you're travelling through YVR you might want to double-check your flight status, because Vancouver Airport has been facing delays this week. Vancouver International Airport warned travellers that flight changes may happen, due to resource constraints at Nav Canada.
Nav Canada is the air navigation service provider in Canada and, according to YVR's most recent update, it is dealing with "staffing constraints caused by unplanned absences."
This led NAV Canada to reduce departures and arrivals this week, and only operate off of one of the airports two runways.
"As flight schedules continue to be impacted, passengers may experience changes to their flights, including delays or cancellations. We recognize the inconvenience that can be caused by changes to flight schedules," YVR said in the statement released on April 16.
The airport encouraged people to stay up to date directly with their airline's latest flight status and contact the airline for rebooking options.
While Nav Canada has since updated travellers via X (formerly Twitter), saying the "flow of traffic at YVR has now returned to normal levels," passengers are still being advised to check their flight status directly with their airline.
So if you've got a flight coming up, don’t risk it — check your flight status before you head to the airport.
