Both police and ambulance services were dispatched to a West End apartment to respond to seven Vancouver overdoses from the same party on Friday, November 27.

The police release explains that the seven adults had taken cocaine and MDMA.

The party took place on Jervis Street near Davie and first responders came across five people in "serious medical distress" and others who needed medical assistance, too.

Constable Jason Doucette said in the release that the local supply chain is contaminated and people need to "exercise extreme caution when deciding to consume street drugs."

The seven people, aged 25 to 42, were all taken to the hospital.

The police release refers to the event as a party, though there is no mention of the current health orders in place in B.C.

Unless these individuals all reside in the home, this gathering would certainly be against the rules.

Though, it is not clear whether or not there was any enforcement of the restrictions in this instance.
