This little town on the water has sandy beaches, quaint vibes, and charm around every corner. It's the kind of place you immediately want to move to after a visit, thanks to its dreamy beach town feel, local shops, and surrounding nature.

From Vancouver you'll hop on BC Ferries, sailing across the water to reach the town of Qualicum Beach. You'll get off the ferry in Nanaimo, driving about 40 minutes before reaching this cozy town on Vancouver Island.

The town was praised in a recent Narcity poll, which asked readers what the best small towns in B.C. to live in are. The slow pace and beauty of this place has earned it a spot among the best in the province.

While it's still relatively close to the city amenities of Nanaimo, it feels like it's far away from any hustle and bustle here.

You have access to the beauty of Vancouver Island, which is famous for it's awe-inspiring nature. According to the tourism website, "Parksville Qualicum Beach is one of the sunniest and warmest spots" on the island, so you can escape the rain.

The waterfront walkway gives you views of the sparkling ocean that you could stare at all day long.

Within the downtown village you'll find cute boutiques, galleries, and small shops. There's also a farmer's market here every Saturday that makes for a wholesome weekend activity.

The main draw here, though, is the nature. Miles of beaches are surrounding town, where you can breathe in the salty air and get your toes in the soft sand. At low tide the water pulls out, exposing long beaches you can walk along.

Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park is a go-to here with massive trees alongside the sand.

Parksville Beach is another popular spot nearby, with a long stretch of sand.

Then you have the forest, with trails that will take you past towering trees and vibrant greenery. Englishman River Falls Provincial Park is where you'll find old-growth trees and a swimming hole to cool off in.

If you want a cute village and breathtaking nature wrapped up into one special spot — this is the place to be.
