Volkswagen is kicking off a new era in iconic style! The much-loved VW Bus, known for its charm, quirkiness and spirit of freedom, has returned, fully electrified as the ID. Buzz.

This modern take on the unforgettable microbus packs all the adventure-ready vibes of its retro roots, but with the sustainability and innovation of an all-electric powerhouse.

Speaking with Narcity, Volkswagen Canada president Edgar Estrada explained: "The ID. Buzz is an icon […] that has marked the lives of a lot of people through the years." Now, it’s poised to inspire a new generation of explorers who value freedom and sustainability.

Like many people, Estrada has a fond connection with the classic VW Bus.

"I learned how to drive a combustion engine car in an old bus — a yellow and white bus," he recalled. "It was my first driving experience as a teenager. I was taught by my father in one of these buses."

Even with all the advanced technology that makes this fully electric drivetrain possible, the ID. Buzz stays true to the heart and soul that made the original a cultural icon.

In celebration of the microbus’ Canadian comeback, Volkswagen has teamed up with Campfire Circle, a privately funded charity that brings joy and the magic of camp to kids facing cancer or serious illnesses.

Volkswagen has been a proud partner of Campfire Circle for over a decade. To celebrate this new electrified-era of the VW Bus, Volkswagen is auctioning off one of the very first ID. Buzz available in Canada with all proceeds from the auction going to fund safe and inclusive programs at year-round community, in-hospital, and overnight camps.

The virtual auction kicked off on October 30 and runs until November 13 at 12 p.m. ET, offering Canadians a rare opportunity to own this legendary ride while supporting a great cause that celebrates kids for who they are – not what they have.

Whether you're a lifelong Volkswagen enthusiast or love combining adventure and sustainability with a good cause, this auction is your chance. Place your bid to be part of history, own a piece of Volkswagen's legacy and support unforgettable camp experiences for kids and their families.
