If you're looking for an excuse to call a new state home, then the opportunity of a lifetime just opened for you in the great state of West Virginia.

A new company, known as Ascend West Virginia, is aiming to pay people $12,000 to move to select cities in the Mountain State and live life at a slower pace but also with a sense of adventure.

The company is primarily looking for people who currently reside outside of the state, work remotely full-time, and are drawn to the great outdoors.

If selected, you will be moving to the small town of Morgantown, where you will earn $10,000 over the course of the first year paid in the monthly installments, and an additional $2,000 after completing your second year.

Ascend West Virginia will also be giving you a year of free outdoor recreation gear rentals and activities to help you explore the state's natural side, including ziplining adventures, rafting expeditions, off-road excursions, and mountain climbing.
