There's An 'Active Shooter' In Nunavut & Police Warn Locals To Stay In Their Homes

There's no word on if anybody has been hurt.

The RCMP in Clyde River, Nunavut, has issued a short statement warning that an active shooter is in the community.

UPDATE: Police say there has been a "peaceful resolution" and a suspect is in custody. Locals are now free to leave their homes.

Their notice urges locals in the area to remain in their homes until they are given the go-ahead to leave, according to Global News.

There has been no confirmation from police as to whether anybody has been hurt.

Clyde River is an Inuit hamlet, which is situated on the shore of Baffin Island's Patricia Bay.

It’s estimated to have a population of around 1,000 people.
