An altercation between a flight attendant and a passenger on a Delta flight from Miami to Atlanta turned violent and it was caught on camera.

A video taken of the argument shows a passenger getting in the face of the flight attendant and then slapping her.

The fight was apparently sparked when two passengers were asked to leave the plane after refusing to wear their masks correctly.

The passengers were gathering their belongings to deplane when the altercation began.

A plane full of shocked passengers watched as the fight unfolded and onlookers can be heard yelling, "You can't be hitting a flight attendant!" and "Uh oh, she's in her face. Oh Lord! Oh Lord!"

Delta Airlines released a statement saying, “We do not tolerate violence of any kind and this situation is currently under investigation. That’s why two customers who did not comply with crew safety instructions were asked to deplane Flight 1997.”

Miami-Dade Police were called to the tarmac to deal with the situation, but no arrests have been made yet.

It is a federal crime to assault a crew member on a plane, but it is not known yet if the woman will face charges for striking the flight attendant.
