On March 12, 119 dogs were surrendered to the B.C. SPCA from one property in Fort Nelson.

“The owners found themselves in an overwhelming situation and reached out for help,” says Marcie Moriarty, chief enforcement and prevention officer for the B.C. SPCA.

The SPCA is now treating the dogs for hernias, eye issues, dental issues and other health concerns.

They initially thought they were going to be taking in 22 dogs, not 119.

The vet bills have already cost over $14,000 and they're in desperate need of donations as well as forever homes when that time comes.
