Summer might be slipping away, but there's still time to enjoy a few more beach days. If you're looking for a magical place to soak up the last of the summer sun, you'll want to pack your bags and head to this dreamy destination, which is one of the "best" freshwater beaches in Canada.

Boasting velvety sand shores that stretch into turquoise waters, retro vibes, and charming beachside shops, it's a magical spot for a late-summer escape.

The beach is located 3 hours from Toronto, making it an idyllic place for a weekend getaway. It's been dubbed "The Daytona of the North," according to Explore the Bruce, and you can drink up the tropical vibes and imagine you're on a tropical vacation.

Sauble Beach is a stunning gem perched along the sparkling shores of Lake Huron. According to the Sauble Beach website, it's "Canada's best freshwater beach" and has a "classic '70s summer vibe, where flip-flops are the dress code, and a perfect day includes nothing more than sand between your toes and a slow stroll down the main strip."

With its endless silky sand shores and beachside charm, it's no surprise Destination Ontario says it's "perhaps the most luxurious white sand beach" in the province and "is one of Ontario's most highly sought-after beach destinations."

You'll want to spend all afternoon on the beach, recently renamed Saugeen Beach, soaking up the golden sunrays and splashing through the shimmering waves.

The town is an adorable beachside gem worth exploring. Here you'll find retro shops, ice cream parlours and comfy beachside cafes that look like they belong on a postcard.

In addition to swimming and shopping, Sauble Beach offers activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, mini golf, an arcade, speedway and more.

You can also enjoy a meal on a beachside patio and stay late to soak up one of the town's iconic sunsets.

With its gorgeous shoreline, sparkling waters and retro charm, Sauble Beach is the place to go for a late-summer escape.
