Canada has so many beautiful places to call home, from vibrant cities to quaint villages. One dreamy Ontario town—nicknamed the "Venice of Ontario" —has Canadians especially tempted to pack their bags.

In a post on Narcity Canada's Facebook page, we asked readers which Canadian small town they'd love to move to, and this lakeside town was one of the places mentioned.

Located just under two hours from Toronto, this hidden gem community boasts winding waterways and small-town charm, making it a beautiful spot to settle down if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Lagoon City is a scenic community on the Eastern shore of Lake Simcoe. The area is home to over 10 miles of canals, earning it the nickname "The Venice of Ontario."

It's an idyllic spot to live if you enjoy the outdoors, offering two private beaches for residents, picturesque parks, and watersports.

While the community itself is small, it's close to cute villages such as Beaverton and is under an hour from Barrie.

According to the Township of Ramara website, the region is "the ideal place to live, with its small-town feel, picturesque views, and a strong sense of community." It offers "a touch of urban lifestyle in beautiful rural surroundings," making it the perfect spot for anyone who wants the best of both worlds.

Zolo reports that the average house price in the Township of Ramara is $849,538 in September 2025, making it a more affordable alternative to major cities like Toronto.

With its peaceful canals and lakeside charm, Lagoon City is a destination that Canadians would "love" to move to.
