Canada is full of charming small towns, but this hidden gem is so enchanting that Canadians are dreaming of moving there. With peaceful river views, historic homes and lush forests, it's a magical spot to live if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

In a post on Narcity Canada's Facebook page, we asked readers which Canadian small town they'd love to move to, and this cozy hamlet was one of the places mentioned.

Terra Cotta is a tiny village located in the picturesque Caledon region, just an hour away from Toronto.

Nestled amidst rolling hills, it feels like a scene from a storybook, with its winding roads and towering trees.

Settled in 1855, the hamlet is brimming with old-world charm and cozy, rural vibes perfect for anyone craving a slower pace of life.

It's known for the Terra Cotta Conservation Area, which offers stunning hiking trails, mature forests, and hidden ponds.

While the village doesn't have many shops, it is home to the Terra Cotta Inn, which, according to Visit Caledon, is "one of the most spectacular dining locations in Caledon."

Nestled on the banks of the Credit River, the Inn has quaint dining rooms and a patio overlooking the river.

You can also visit the Terra Cotta Country Store, where you'll find a cozy bakery with drinks and gourmet ice cream, as well as other items.

The charm of Caledon comes at a price—literally. According to Zolo, the average cost of a home in Caledon in September 2025 is $1,213,720.

Even if you're not ready to make the move, Terra Cotta is worth a visit for its conservation area trails, cozy country store, and picture-perfect scenery straight out of a storybook.
