Canadians say they'd 'love' to move to this Ontario town with quaint streets and waterfalls

It's a little slice of paradise.

Lead Writer, Travel

With cozy streets, shimmering waterways, and cascades that look straight out of a postcard, this Ontario town has Canadians wishing they could pack up and move there.

Offering a quieter pace and stunning landscapes, the village allows you to enjoy quaint shops, local events, and small-town charm throughout the year.

In a Facebook post, we asked readers to share the small towns in Canada they'd love to move to, and this Ontario gem was among the places mentioned.

Bracebridge is a charming small town located in the beautiful Muskoka region, approximately two hours from Toronto.

Known as the "Heart of Muskoka," the destination is "connected by historic streets and mesmerizing waterfalls," according to its website.

The downtown, located steps from majestic Bracebridge Falls, offers cozy boutiques, art galleries, eateries and more, so there's no need to travel to a big city to get your shopping done.

Bracebridge is surrounded by some of "Ontario's most pristine wilderness and waterways," making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts. You can travel to some of the surrounding beaches, such as Kirby's Beach Park, wander along scenic trails, and cycle through picturesque parks.

The town has also earned the nickname "Waterfall Capital of Muskoka" and is home to several gorgeous cascades, including five at the High Falls site. You can even take a waterfall tour around the area to discover these dreamy natural wonders.

Some other top things to enjoy in Bracebridge include Santa's Village theme park, the Storybook Trail at Woodchester, and the annual Fire & Ice Festival, which takes place every winter.

According to the Town of Bracebridge, "Bracebridge is much more than a summer destination. With an active population of 17,305 permanent residents, the community provides an attractive combination of economic opportunities, urban facilities and services, as well as a highly desirable and vibrant lifestyle."

If you're dreaming of a slower pace surrounded by endless outdoor adventures, this Ontario town might just be your dream destination.
