Big Brother Canada Just Announced The Premiere Date For Season 9

After a sudden ending last year, Big Brother Canada is coming back for its ninth season and apparently, the show must go on!

In a press release Wednesday, Corus Entertainment announced the coveted Canadian game show will premiere on March 3, 2021.

"With uncontended success and loyalty across the country, Big Brother Canada continues to reign as the ultimate social experiment delivering top-notch entertainment like none other," Troy Reeb from Corus Entertainment said.

"With some of the most die-hard TV fans chomping at the bit for the next phase, Season 9 is set to entertain audiences and satisfy their #BBCAN craving.”

This comes after season eight of the show had to cease production last year following pandemic concerns. 

The show will premiere Wednesday, March 3 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Additionally, Arisa Cox, Big Brother Canada's host, will now be among the executive producers on the show, the report read. 

What's more, Cox has spoken out in the past about the changes she would like to see regarding the Big Brother franchise.

"Now is the time to take a giant step forward and see if we can make these shows that we love and we watch more equitable and a better experience for everyone," Cox told Toronto Star in an interview last year.

"There are so few Black men and women in leadership positions in Canadian media. I take it seriously because we are creating the future that we want to see."
