Alberta's weather forecast calls for 15 cm of snow, severe thunderstorms and hail
This week is starting out stormy.⛈️

Snowfall in Alberta. Right: Rainfall warning Alberta.
Get ready for a wild weather mix, Alberta — Environment Canada has issued multiple alerts as the province braces for snowfall, lots of rain, and even severe thunderstorms.
Rainfall warnings are in effect for several areas, including Crimson Lake, the City of Red Deer, Lacombe County near Eckville, and parts of the M.D. of Bighorn near Canmore. Up to 70 mm of rain is expected to fall throughout the day on Monday.
According to Environment Canada, the rainfall is forecasted to "intensify this morning and continue through tonight." Meanwhile, higher elevations in the foothills could see snow accumulation. The wet weather is expected to ease by Tuesday morning.
Snowfall warnings have also been issued for areas in the Kananaskis Improvement District, including near Highwood House and Kananaskis Village. Heavy, wet snow is forecast to fall throughout the day on Monday and into the night, with totals of up to 15 cm likely above 1,600 metres in elevation. Like the rain, the snow is expected to taper off by Tuesday morning.
On top of all that, severe thunderstorm watches are in place for parts of Alberta — including the City of Lethbridge. While "severe thunderstorms" are possible Monday morning, the alert said that "wind gusts are the main threat," and heavy rain and hail is also possible.
