Here's How Many Albertans Need To Be Vaccinated To Reopen & Where The Province Is Now

The province's reopening plan was recently announced and each stage of the plan is based on vaccination rates. If you're wondering , the province has an updated percentage to keep you up to date.

According to the government's data, 49.7% of Albertans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of May 25. Only 8% of the province is fully vaccinated.

In order to move into Stage 1 of the , 50% of the population needs to have received at least one dose of a vaccine. Premier Jason Kenney has slated the first stage of reopening to start on June 1, as we're nearly at that marker. There also needs to be less than 800 hospitalizations at this time.

For Stage 2, 60% of the population needs to have had their first vaccine dose and there need to be less than 500 hospitalizations.

The third and final stage will happen once 70% of the population has one COVID-19 vaccine dose. There are no hospitalization targets for this stage.
