Calgary Just Announced That Masks Will Be Mandatory For The Rest Of The Year

Better keep your masks handy because during a council meeting on Monday, September 14, it was announced that mandatory Calgary masks will continue to be implemented for the rest of the year. 

The city council voted in favour of officially keeping the current mandatory mask bylaw in place — it first came into effect on Saturday, August 1.

Failure to wear a face covering where required can result in a penalty of $50.

People are expected to wear masks when in public indoor spaces, public vehicles, or on public transit.

While cities like Edmonton gave out mask exemption cards, Calgary has no similar program in place.
