This little town just outside of Calgary is an escape into nature, with jagged peaks, thick forests and sparkling lakes. Wandering around feels like you've stepped into a storybook with quint streets, cute shops and picturesque views.

Canmore was shouted out by readers on the Narcity Canada Facebook, as one of the best small towns in Canada to live in — and it's not hard to see why.

It's like a Hallmark-movie small town, but not too far from the big city. Main Street has cute stores like The Tin Box, PROJECT A, O’Canada Soapworks — perfect for exploring on a sunny day.

Then there's the restaurant and breweries in town, and spas where you can wind down. There's a little bit of everything in town, but like most places in the Canadian Rockies, the big draw is the surrounding nature. The famous Three Sisters Mountain overlook town, giving you a taste of the natural beauty, but there's a lot to see here.

From sparkling lakes to thick forest, hiking trails here can bring you to incredible spots. Grassi Lakes Trail is a popular spot right outside of town, for a short journey with a big pay-off. The four-kilometre hike brings you to a stunning turquoise lake and can take you past a waterfall.

Grotto Canyon is another popular trail, just ten minutes from the town, and will bring you to a booming waterfall. According to the tourism website, you can also see "Hopi pictographs, painted some 500-1,000 years ago," here.

Nestled right in the breathtaking nature Alberta is known for, this little town is as dreamy as it gets.
