A Canadian Tire sign has been called out because the math isn't adding up

"Canadian Tire can't math."

A "sale" price at Canadian Tire is being mocked on Reddit and the company is being accused of not being able to "math."

On the Reddit forum r/onejob, someone posted a picture of the fail where the numbers for a discounted coffee make do not add up.

from onejob

The picture shows that the coffee maker usually costs $149.99 and is currently on sale for $119.99, which means people can save $30.

The problem is that the sign says that customers can save $50, which isn't true.

One Reddit user suggested that perhaps the sign was cut incorrectly and that the "save $50.00" was meant to be part of another sign.

"No all the sale signs were like that but with the correct amount," replied the original poster. "Tried to get them to honour the $50 off & was told no. So I bought a coffee maker elsewhere."

A similar "fail" was pointed out for a sign that was posted at Loblaws recently.

The photo shows that a single BodyArmor drink will cost you $2.47, but if you buy two it'll somehow cost you $5.00, which is actually three cents more per drink than the individual price.

Always check the math, folks!
