When it comes to who submitted CERB applications, more than 300,000 of those were teenagers and they were approved to receive money.

The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) gave Narcity a rundown on the number of Canadian teens who got the COVID-19 benefit.

317,990 teenagers claimed the CERB

There were 40,630 15-year-olds who had their application approved and got money, 92,784 16-year-olds and 184,576 17-year-olds.

That works out to a total of 317,990 teens who claimed the CERB when it was available.

The CRA said that one of the criteria to be eligible for the benefit was that the person had to be at least 15 years old.

So, if these teens also met the other requirements then they were entitled to the money.

The federal government has said that they can't let people off the hook for repayments and if you want to see if you need to pay anything back, there's an online quiz to help you figure it out.

Justin Trudeau confirmed at the end of 2020 that almost 9 million people got the CERB that year.
