If you're a parent in Canada, now might be a good time to double-check your kid's gear. Health Canada and Transport Canada have issued a bunch of child and baby product recalls recently, involving everything from car seats and bike helmets to high chairs, baby nests and toys.

In the last few weeks alone, more than a dozen child and baby products have been recalled across Canada due to safety concerns, with at least 10 deaths in the U.S. reportedly linked to some of them.

The list includes items sold at major retailers like Costco, Walmart, Amazon and even Dollarama — and in many cases, the recalls are tied to serious hazards like choking, falling and drowning.

Here's a breakdown of the latest Health Canada recalls for children's products — including which brands and models are affected and what to do if you have one at home.

Baby nests

Health Canada

Recalled products:

  • BChic eleven "baby co-sleeping bed"
  • Chicure eleven "luggage bed middle bed"

Recall reason: Chic Baby is recalling over 3,000 baby nests sold online in Canada between February 2020 and July 2025 due to serious safety concerns flagged by Health Canada. The products, sold under the brand name "eleven," do not meet Canadian safety regulations for cribs, cradles and bassinets — posing fall, strangulation and entrapment risks for infants, according to Health Canada.

No injuries have been reported so far, but parents are being urged to stop using the nests right away and throw them out so they can't be reused. More information can be found on the Chic Baby website.

Health Canada

Recalled products:

  • Floating Stacker - Rainbow — model # STA-BGY-801T; UPC 858790006432
  • Floating Stacker - Big Top — model # STA-BTP-806T; UPC 858790006531

Recall reason: Tegu Holdings is recalling nearly 2,000 floating stacker toys sold in Canada between August 2018 and April 2025 because the small magnetic parts can detach, posing a choking and ingestion risk to kids that can be "very serious and life-threatening."

"Unlike other small objects that would be more likely to pass normally through the digestive system if swallowed, when more than one small powerful magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract one another while travelling through the digestive system," explains Health Canada in the recall notice. "The magnets can then pinch together and create a blockage and slowly tear through the intestinal walls, causing perforations."

One incident of the magnets detaching has been reported in Canada, with dozens more abroad. If you have one of these toys at home, you should stop using it immediately and reach out to Tegu for a free replacement.

Play kitchen

KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen with problematic hooks circled in red.

Health Canada

Recalled product: KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen — model # 53411 706943534113; UPC 706943010228 706943207277

Recall reason: Backyard Kids is recalling thousands of KidKraft play kitchens sold in Canada from 2018 to 2025 because of a strangulation hazard linked to the accessory hooks. According to Health Canada, if a child climbs through the back opening, their clothing can get caught on the hooks — and one child in the U.S. died in such an incident.

Families are urged to stop using the play kitchen immediately, remove the existing hooks and contact the company for free replacements. Anchoring the unit securely to a wall is also strongly recommended. You can visit the KidKraft website for more information and to order replacement hooks.

Recall reason: Gestion Magmar Administration is recalling nearly 90 portable high chairs sold in Canada between May 2021 and June 2025 after Health Canada found they could pose an entrapment risk to kids.

The issue was flagged through the agency's routine product testing program. As of June, no injuries had been reported, but parents should stop using the chair immediately and reach out to the company for more details on next steps.

Housbay baby nest.

Health Canada

Recalled product: "Housbay Nests for Baby Newborn Lounger 65*100Cm Portable Cradle For Baby 0-36 Months Boys Girls Bassinet Winter Warm Bumper in Crib"

Advisory details: Health Canada is warning shoppers about Housbay baby nests sold on AliExpress.ca after finding the product doesn't meet Canadian safety standards for cribs and bassinets. While only four units were sold in Canada, and no injuries have been reported so far, the agency is warning the item could pose a risk of strangulation, entrapment, choking and falls.

Because the seller is based outside the country, this was issued as a safety advisory rather than a formal recall — but buyers are still urged to stop using the product and throw it out so it can't be reused.

Car seats

Recalled products: Evenflo Revolve360 Slim and Gold Revolve360 Slim car seats with the following model numbers:

  • 36812449C
  • 36812449CPOP
  • 36812450C
  • 36812467C
  • 36812470C
  • 36812470CV

Recall reason: Transport Canada has flagged nearly 19,000 Evenflo Revolve360 Slim car seats sold in Canada between May 2023 and June 2025 for not meeting safety standards when installed rear-facing using a vehicle's seat belt and tether. While there are no reported injuries, the regulator says the issue could increase the risk of harm in a crash.

Parents can still use the seat rear-facing with the universal anchorage system (UAS) or forward-facing as normal, but should not use the seat belt and tether in the rear-facing position without installing the remedy kit. Evenflo says they're sending free remedy kits to all registered owners of the affected models in September. If you have one of these models, make sure it's registered so you receive the free kit.

  • Polygroup Funsicle (sold from 2023 to 2025)
  • Polygroup Outbound (sold from 2015 to 2025)

Recall reason: More than 266,000 above-ground pools sold in Canada across more than two decades from Bestway, Intex and Polygroup are being recalled because of a major drowning risk. The issue comes from an outer compression strap that can act like a ladder rung, making it easier for a child to climb in unsupervised.

While no incidents have been reported in Canada, there have been nine drownings in the U.S. linked to these models. If you have one of these pools, contact the company for a free repair kit — and keep kids away from the pool until the fix is in place. You can get more information or a free repair kit on the Bestway, Intex and Polygroup websites.

Recalled product: HAPDEN Travel Portable Crib Fence Bed Cradle (label states "Bionic Crib in Bed")

Just 34 units were sold in Canada, and no injuries have been reported. Because the seller is based outside the country, this is a safety advisory rather than a recall — but Health Canada says parents should still stop using the product right away and throw it out so it can't be reused.

Recalled products:

  • 509 Tactical 3.0 Helmets (Youth, Mountain, and Trail) — all sizes and years of manufacture
  • 509 for Polaris Tactical 3.0 Helmets (Youth and Mountain) — all sizes and years of manufacture

Recall reason: Polaris is recalling certain 509 and 509 for Polaris helmets — including certain youth-sized Tactical 3.0 models — due to impact protection issues that could increase the risk of head injuries. Additional adult-sized helmets are also part of the recall. Some helmets don't meet safety standards, while others may have chin strap defects that could cause the helmet to detach in a crash.

No incidents have been reported in Canada, but in the U.S., there has been one case of a helmet coming detached and a report of a concussion related to these helmets. Affected customers can contact 509 or Polaris to request a replacement or refund.

The affected Bell Cadence models — with a "9/24" production code — could pose a risk of head injury. The model name, number and production code can be found on a sticker inside the helmet.

No incidents have been reported, but parents should stop using the helmets right away and contact Bell for a refund. You'll need to cut the straps and send in a photo as proof before throwing it out.

Recalled product: Funlio 2-in-1 Baby High Chair — model # FL-039

Recall reason: Ecogoods is recalling 74 Funlio convertible baby high chairs sold in Canada at Walmart and Amazon from May 2024 to May 2025 due to serious safety risks. According to Health Canada, the opening between the seat and tray is too large, which could trap a child, and the restraint system might fail — both of which could lead to falls or entrapment.

No injuries have been reported, but Health Canada says parents should stop using the high chair immediately, disassemble it and follow the company's refund instructions, which include sending photos of the destroyed product.
