As the number of positive tests surges across the country, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Canada has surpassed a quarter of a million.

With record-breaking daily spikes being reported in provinces like Ontario, B.C., Alberta and more, Canada’s total number of positive tests has exceeded the grim milestone.

According to government data shared on November 7, over 260,000 cases have now been recorded across the country.

260,055 Total COVID-19 cases in Canada

Previously, almost half of all Canada’s COVID-19 cases were being reported in just one province.

However, new figures show that around 75% of all cases have been confirmed in Ontario and Quebec.

It’s not the only pandemic milestone on Canada’s horizon, either. As of Saturday, 10,490 people in the country had died due to COVID-19.

But Canada isn’t the only country confirming record-breaking numbers recently.

Earlier this week, the United States broke its daily case record, reporting 103,000 new positive tests within 24 hours.
