While Joe Biden is being widely reported as the new U.S. president, Donald Trump has taken to Twitter to declare himself the winner.

Tweeting for the first time since Biden was reported president, Trump claimed he had won the election instead and said that “bad things happened” when ballots were being counted.

The message was flagged by Twitter almost immediately as being potentially misleading, with a message saying “This claim about election fraud is disputed.”

Shortly after, Trump followed-up with the message, "71,000,000 Legal Votes. The most EVER for a sitting President!"

Hours earlier, the soon-to-be-former president had made a similar claim, tweeting, “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!”

He's also threatened legal action against the result.

Over the past few days, social media sites like Twitter and Facebook have flagged several of Trump’s posts, warning users that the content may be misleading or inaccurate.

In a new Saturday Night Live sketch, which aired on Saturday, Jim Carrey poked fun at Trump’s apparent refusal to accept defeat.
