Tampa's foodie scene is a melting pot of delicious fare. From hits of Latin flavors to Greek eats and tastes of India, Ethopia, and even Italy, there's no chance you'll be falling into a rut of eating the same ol' thang. Your options are about to increase by one with a new Asian fusion restaurant in Tampa, Hiccups Teahouse & Churroholic — and one look at their treats is likely to have your mouth watering.

Husband and wife duo, Annie Tra and Kevin Tran, will be bringing the California-based Hiccups & Churroholic franchise to North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa's Carrollwood community soon, serving up a wide selection of pan-Asian eats and sweet treats.

Originally slated for a Spring 2020 opening, some construction hiccups have delayed the project. Narcity reached out and spoke with Annie Tra to get the scoop on when hungry Tampa Bay foodies can expect their delicious debut.

Tra explained that the approximately 1620 square foot space is now expecting to open their doors in the Fall of 2020, with the couple shooting for an October Grand Opening, though Tra says that October isn't set in stone.

The space will be similar to other locations dishing out a modern meets antique vibe, featuring fresh and clean subway tiling, wooden accents, and antique lighting fixtures to pull the atmosphere together — with both indoor and outdoor patio seating.

But vibes aside, it's the bites that will likely draw you to this new spot. On the Hiccups Teahouse menu, you can expect to see oodles of noodles, fried rice, and Asian-fusion dishes perfect for lunchtime.

A couple of popular appetizers you can dig into include popcorn chicken and sriracha fries, topped with filet mignon cubes, onions, bell peppers, mozzarella, and a kick of sriracha.

As for the entrees, garlic lovers can indulge in garlic sauce stir-fried noodles with their choice of protein and parmesan cheese; 17 different varieties of pho will be available for the noodle fanatics, as well as kimchi fried rice, and much more.

You'll want to save room for dessert though, fresh made-to-order churros with a variety of toppings.

From the classic original churro to matcha and fruity pebble, cookies and cream, or even chocolate and coconut-coated versions of this fried dough treat, you'll have plenty of options to sate your sweet tooth.

The Churro Sundae will give you a double dose of sugar, including two original churros cut and topped with a scoop of ice cream, whipped cream, caramel and chocolate drizzles, sprinkled with coconut flakes and toffee — though a bunch of other extra toppings can also be added.

And that's just the tip of the mouthwatering ice burg; the menu also features ice creams, slushies, smoothies, milkshakes, coffee and coffee floats, as well as milk and flavored teas.

One of Tra's fave things coming to Hiccups & Churroholic is the Mango Chamoy Slush, a mango slushie topped with diced mangos, a chamoy fruit sauce, and tajin mixed in for a sweet and sour combo with a little spicy kick.

If you see yourself being a frequent Hiccup-er and Churroholic, $8, 32 oz mason jars will be for sale that you can bring back and refill over and over again for the price of a large drink.

If you're looking forward to these new eats coming to Tampa, an official grand opening date will be posted to Hiccups & Churroholic's Facebook page soon.

"We're excited to open our doors," said Tra, "and we're hoping everyone in Tampa's going to enjoy the food and come out to support us!"
