Alberta Is Adding A Bunch Of Vacations & Travel Prizes To Its Vaccine Lottery

You can win an all-inclusive trip to a resort in Cancun!

There are new additions to Alberta's vaccine lottery and residents can now win travel prizes, including all-inclusive vacations, just for getting vaccinated.

The province's Open for Summer Lottery includes three prizes of $1 million along with the new travel offerings. Draws are happening in July, August and September, with the WestJet and prizes included in the August draw for people who have gotten two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The WestJet prizes are:

  • One vacation package for two to a resort in Cancun, including round-trip economy flights and a seven-night, all-inclusive stay
  • One voucher for two people to fly round trip, business class, anywhere that WestJet flies
  • 10 vouchers for two people to fly round trip, economy class, anywhere in Canada
  • Three giveaways of 1,500 WestJet dollars
  • Five giveaways of WestJet Rewards Gold Status

The Air Canada prizes are:

  • One vacation package for two at a resort in Cancun, including round-trip economy flights and a seven-night, all-inclusive stay
  • One voucher for two people to fly round trip, business class, anywhere that Air Canada flies
  • 10 vouchers for two people to fly round trip, economy class, anywhere in Canada
  • Three giveaways of 100,000 Aeroplan bonus points
  • Five giveaways of Aeroplan 50K Status

If you want a chance at winning one of the travel prizes, you have to register and must have received both doses before the registration deadline at 11:59 p.m. on August 24. Winners will then be announced on August 31.

The first vaccine lottery in Canada was in Manitoba, with $1.4 million in prizes offered, and there are some happening in several U.S. states as well, including California and Ohio.
