Edmonton Has The Majority In Alberta's New COVID-19 Cases & They're Mostly Young People
Edmonton is confirming the majority of new COVID-19 cases in Alberta.
On Wednesday, August 12, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province's top doctor, announced in a press conference that 121 new cases were recorded in the province in the past 24 hours. Of those cases, 95 were Edmonton residents.

What we know right now from the most recent cases, is they do continue to be in a younger age group.

The majority of the active cases in Edmonton are in the northeast part of the city.
Dr. Hinshaw said that 77% of the cases in northeast Edmonton are people under 40. The "median age" for all cases in Edmonton is about 30 years old.
She said that the health authorities are still investigating how the new cases were transmitted.
