It looks like 2020 has yet another nasty surprise ahead for Canadians. Canada's winter weather forecast is out, and conditions are going to get pretty brutal in some regions. With more rain, more snow and even colder temperatures expected, you should consider digging out your snuggliest jumper ASAP.\nJust when we thought we couldn’t take too much more disappointment this year, the Canadian Farmers' Almanac has released their weather predictions for the winter ahead.\nWhile some provinces will be spared the standard damp, slushy and bitter Canadian winter, others are expected to experience even worse conditions than usual.\nFor residents of western Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and eastern B.C., the forecast is predicting conditions that are “much colder than normal winter temperatures.”\nIn B.C., Alberta and Saskatchewan, this will be combined with even more snow than usual. The same is expected in western Quebec and Ontario, too.\nThings will go from bad to worse in the Pacific Province, as incoming storms are also likely to bring even more rain.\nIf you were hoping there might be some improvement by the start of 2021, think again.\nThe forecast is “red-flagging” early January in Ontario and Quebec as extra-heavy snowfall is expected, and February will bring blizzard-like conditions to the Maritimes. Residents of Canada’s eastern provinces will be able to enjoy an “unseasonably mild” winter this year.\nThose in Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, P.E.I., and New Brunswick can enjoy a break from the usual bitterness, while their western counterparts struggle with arctic temperatures.\nThe contrast is expected to be so stark, the Farmers' Almanac is dubbing the season "winter of the great divide."\nDespite the miserable forecast, Canada is no stranger to wicked winters and terrible temperatures.\nIn 2019, we experienced some of the coldest temperatures on Earth on multiple occasions, with conditions reaching -44 C in some places.\nAt one stage, 11 of the top 15 chilliest places on the planet were all in Canada!\nView this post on Instagram A post shared by Alex Kelly (@alessandrokelly) on Feb 7, 2020 at 9:55am PST\nWith unusual levels of frost and snow ahead, we can only hope for a fabulous ski season.\nPull out your gloves and your booties, Canada.
