As COVID-19 cases continue to climb, Jagmeet Singh has called for more paid sick days in Canada for those who become unwell.

The NDP leader took to Twitter to say that many Canadians are unable to work from home during the pandemic, and should be given additional paid sick days if they become unwell.

"Those of us who can, must stay home. But some have to go to work to pay bills or are essential workers, caring for the sick & making sure we all have what we need," the NDP party leader wrote.

He went on to say that giving Canadians more paid sick days would help to curb the spread of COVID-19.

Additionally, Singh said that individuals need more workplace health and safety enforcement, as well as accessible isolation centres.

If these sentiments sound familiar, it's because he's shared a similar message before!

In September, Singh announced that he would only support Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's speech from the throne if the PM implemented paid sick leave, among other demands.

As far back as May, he called for it on a national scale and said every Canadian should have the option to get paid time off if they become sick with COVID-19.
