It's not just the show's fans who are upset after Kim's Convenience was cancelled.

The show's stars shared emotional posts on social media after news broke that the show would be ending after its fifth season finishes on April 13.

Simu Liu, who plays Jung Kim in the show, said he was "heartbroken" by the news.

"For reasons that I'm sure we will get into someday, we must prematurely bid farewell to Kim's Convenience," he posted in a statement on Twitter.

"I was fully expecting to come back for our sixth season," he said, "I feel we deserved better. I feel that you, our amazing fans, deserved better."

Also on Twitter, Andrew Phung — Kimchee in the show — paid tribute to his fellow cast members with a slideshow of photos.

"We were the little show that could," he said, "To my fellow costars... every day with you was an absolute joy. I'm so proud of everything we created and cherish all those moments."

And even Appa — Paul Sun-Hyung Lee in real life — replied to Phung's tweets.

"I have no words for now. Only a profound sense of loss and sadness. Love you, brother," he said.

In a Twitter statement, the producers of the hit Toronto-based series said they were ending the show because its two co-creators were moving on to other projects.

And while the show's fans are no doubt upset by the news, Liu shared a bittersweet farewell.

"It has been an unbelievable privilege to entertain you for the past five seasons. Reading all your positive messages and hearing how much this show has affected you has honestly been the highlight of this whole journey," he said.

"This isn't goodbye... this is only, 'OK, see you!'"
