One Ontario mayor is now begging those is Toronto's lockdown to stay out of the city.

In a Twitter post on November 25, Cam Guthrie, the mayor of Guelph, stated that he was concerned about people leaving the lockdown spots for non-essential travel.

According to Guthrie, he's getting tons of calls from stores that are stating those from Toronto and Peel are starting to show up to the city to shop.

"SERIOUSLY FOLKS! If you’re from a locked down zone in Ontario and deciding to travel to #Guelph for non-essential goods and services, STOP. My patience is wearing thin," Guthrie wrote in the tweet.

In fact, the mayor even stated that one person was travelling from a lockdown zone to get their hands on their favourite soap.

"Somebody said their friend was travelling from a lockdown zone to Guelph for their favourite soap. Like why?"

"But, seriously, you don't need to come to Guelph for your favourite soap [...] it doesn't show any respect to the guidelines and respect to the individuals that you are interacting with here in our city," Guthrie concluded.

The mayor also states that the city will start increasing the enforcement of the guidelines that have been put in place for the province of Ontario.
