These Unexpected Ontario Spots Are Canada's Most Googled Cities For Buying A Home

The most frequently Googled destinations for buying a home were just released and it turns out that Canadians have a keen interest in these Ontario cities.

New data from Google Blog show that half of the top ten cities Canadians are searching for are in Ontario.

The top three Ontario cities on the list are Cannington, Orléans, and Clarington.

Kawartha Lakes and London ranked sixth and seventh, respectively. The remaining cities are in B.C. and Quebec. 

According to Google, the results illustrate that "Canadians are looking to relocate outside of city centres, into cottages or buying properties in suburban and rural areas" amid the pandemic.

Ontario destinations are getting clout right now 

Ontario towns, cities and counties have gotten all kinds of recognition this year.  

Earlier this month, Niagara-on-the-Lake was named one of the most desirable places in Canada to live if you're looking to escape the city. 

Prince Edward County also recently snagged some accolades. This week, it was ranked one of the best vacation spots in the country.
