You can hop on board this historic train and take a magical fall ride through small towns and picturesque countryside. Located near Toronto, the train offers gorgeous views and quaint stops where you can soak up the beauty of the season.

The Waterloo Central Railway's Heritage Hopper experience is located about an hour away from Toronto. According to the website, you can enjoy "an authentic heritage train ride through Woolwich Township and Waterloo Regions' famous Mennonite farm country" on a rail line that dates back to the 1880s.

The adventure is especially beautiful during the fall when the landscape transforms with crimson leaves and golden fields.

With the Heritage Hopper day pass, you can hop off the train and enjoy some time at the various stops before boarding again. This allows you to explore some cute small towns and browse a farmers' market.

The stops include the charming St. Jacobs Village, where you'll find streets lined with local shops, bakeries and cafes. It's a great spot to grab some lunch or a sweet treat while enjoying some fall vibes.

You can also get off the train at the St. Jacobs Farmers' Market — the largest year-round farmers' market in Canada. Here you'll find all sorts of harvest produce, food and locally made goods.

Elmira is another stop featured along the route. A free bus will take you from the station into the town where you can enjoy the shops and cuisine.

There are two different car types to choose from — the coach car or the first class lounge car, which offers comfy upholstered chairs.

The Heritage Hopper has several upcoming events including the Trivia Train and the Pretzel Express where you can dig into free pretzels.

Tickets can be booked online for this enchanting fall adventure.
