There have already been some spectacular sky shows this year, including meteor showers, full moons and even the massive Saharan dust cloud that brought on an extra pretty hue to Florida's dazzling sunsets.

Even Jupiter, which has been the fascination of many over the decades, made its closest approach to Earth in June, and it's planet cousin, Saturn, wasn't too far behind, coming close to the Earth in July.

But the year isn't over yet.

The Lining Of The Planets 

When It Will Take Place: Dec. 21 

Why You Should Witness It: Jupiter and Saturn aren't done with Earth just yet, as both planets will line up with each other for a journey around the Sun, in which Floridians can see from their back porches or balconies.

The Perseid Meteor Shower 

When It Will Occur: Aug. 11, 12, 13

Why You Should Witness It: This meteor shower will rain an astounding 60 meteors per hour at the peak of the shower, which will be something to behold. Don't worry, these meteors will be no harm to the planet. 

Mars At Opposition 

When It Will Take Place: Oct. 13 

Why You Should Witness It: Get your telescopes ready, as the ever illustrious Mars will shine bright opposite of Earth this October. If you miss it, you'll have to wait until 2022 to get another chance. 

Geminid Meteor Shower 

When It Will Occur: Dec. 13 

Why You Should Witness It: It will be another meteor shower for the ages, this time reaching its peak this December. Even more of a treat, the shower will line up almost with the new moon. 

Total Solar Eclipse 

When It Will Occur: Dec. 14 

Why You Should Witness It: If you missed the last solar eclipse, you'll get another shot when the moon will block out the sun.

When It Will Occur: Sept. 2
