Winter is nowhere near over in Nunavut apparently, as many parts of the territory are caught up in blizzards right now.

On Tuesday, April 27, Environment Canada issued blizzard and snowfall warnings for the Kivalliq region, Cambridge Bay, Gjoa Haven and Pond Inlet.

The weather alert states that certain parts of Nunavut can expect 10 to 25 centimetres of snow with gusting winds as high as 90 kilometres per hour. There is also a cold front moving across Baffin Island that will bring a dump of 10 to 15 centimetres of snow into Pond Inlet.

According to Environment Canada, the blizzard conditions will ease off by Wednesday morning. They are warning locals to avoid any travel as it will be hazardous with reduced visibility.

Places like Regina and Winnipeg, however, are experiencing beautiful spring-like weather with temperatures of 18 and 15 C respectively.
