The Sunshine State's landscapes can be like something straight out of a storybook. Filled with lush foliage and cool, rushing waters, the state is a place of ecological wonder. The beauty is taken up a notch at McKee Botanical Garden near Miami, which is like stepping into a whimsical wonderland as soon as you pass through its gates.

For just $15, you can wander through 18 acres of a tropical oasis. The garden is a tropical hammock, housing tons of diverse botanical life on its grounds.

A standout is the Grand Central Stickwork Sculpture, which was created by Patrick and Sam Dougherty.

It's a fairly new addition to the park, having just been installed there this January, making visitors feel like they've fallen down the rabbit hole into a fantastical new world.

The sculpture sits in the Royal Palm Grove area, and it's so big that it takes up nearly the entire area. Enhancing its beauty and wonder are the royal palm trees that poke out from the stickwork tunnels on the trail.

After weaving your way through, there's plenty more to explore, such as a giant mushroom that is hidden within the park, and the huge green archway that lends the garden its mystical feel.

The garden was founded by Arthur McKee and Waldo Sexton, who bought the land in 1922 with the purpose of growing citrus fruits but instead, it became a whimsical tropical oasis.

McKee Botanical Garden is now a Florida and national landmark — a tropical wonderland right on the state's east coast.
