A month after being caught naked during a video conference, Liberal MP William Amos has been caught in the middle of another virtual mishap.

On May 27, Amos put out a statement declaring that he had urinated without realizing his camera was on in the middle of a virtual House of Commons meeting on May 26.

"I am deeply embarrassed by my actions and the distress they may have caused anybody who witnessed them. While accidental and not visible to the public, this was completely unacceptable, and I apologize unreservedly," Amos said.

He is temporarily stepping aside from his parliamentary secretary role and from his committee duties so he can "seek assistance" but will continue to represent his riding of Pontiac in Quebec.

What happened when William Amos was caught naked before?

This is the second time in a month that the MP has been caught in a compromising situation at work.

In April 2021, a screenshot circulated online of a naked Amos on camera during a virtual House of Commons session.

Amos apologized for the incident, which he said happened because his camera was left on "accidentally" while he was changing out of jogging gear and into his work clothes.

"I sincerely apologize to all of my colleagues in the house," Amos tweeted at the time. "It was an honest mistake [and] it won't happen again."

Other politicians came out in support of Amos and some called out people who were sharing the screenshot. There were even calls for an investigation into who leaked the photo of Amos, because it was a private meeting that could only be viewed by MPs and some staff members.
