British Columbia had the next highest number with 294, followed by Quebec and Ontario, with 140 and 114 respectively.
While this is a jump in cases, there are jurisdictions that do not report over the weekend, which can result in Monday totals being tabulated for three days all at once. Some provinces and territories also do not provide daily updates.
The country's active cases climbed tofor the first time in almost three weeks on August 28, with the current total sitting at 5,604.
