A Big Toronto Hospital Is Now Facing A COVID-19 Outbreak
An entire unit has been shut down.
Torontonians are being warned about a new COVID-19 outbreak at Sunnybrook Hospital. The affected unit has been shut down and is currently closed for admissions.
According to the hospital, an outbreak is declared when two or more patients being treated in the facility for something other than COVID-19 contract the disease.
We have identified four cases, and two of those patients remain at Sunnybrook.
Numerous control measures are being imposed, including isolating the patients as well as increasing testing and cleaning procedures.
At the moment, no other positive cases of the virus have been reported outside of the affected unit.
Sunnybrook Hospital remains open and is reportedly safe to proceed with clinics and procedures as well as receive visitors.
